Non-structural protein 7 (nsp7)– nsp7 interacts with nsp8 to form a hexadecamer that may act as a primase.2 Nsp12-nsp7-nsp8 complex of SARS-CoV-2 is essential for viral replication and transcription and is a potential target to fight against the virus. Seven compounds (Saquinavir, Tipranavir, Lonafarnib, Tegobuvir, Olysio, Filibuvir, and Cepharanthine) were found to interact well with nsp12-nsp7-nsp8 indicating potential as drug candidates.14
